Our Team

Mr. R. Srinivasan, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer 

A long-time civil servant, Mr. Srinivasan has had a lengthy and illustrious career in the fields of banking and taxation, with more than four decades of experience in both the public and corporate sectors. He has been a member of the Indian Revenue Service, and chaired the Economic Affairs Committee, Financial Services Committee and the Delhi State Committee, among others. He served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, India of ANZ Grindlays Bank and later served as a senior advisor to both Fitch Rating and JP Morgan. Mr. Srinivasan has an M.A. in Economics from Delhi University.

Mr. V.S. Radhakrishnan, Chief Operating Officer 

Radha, as he is fondly addressed by the Janalakshmi team, is a veteran banker with an illustrious career with HSBC for over 25 years. He held various senior positions in the bank, before he moved on to serve as the Regional CEO, South of ING Vysya Bank.

Radha has a MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and a CAIIB from Indian Institute of Banking & Finance.

Mr. S. Gopalakrishnan, Chief Financial Officer 

Gopalakrishnan joins Janalakshmi with twenty-five years of experience. Bringing with him over eighteen years of experience from the banking sector, Gopalakrishnan has been with top firms, such as Andra Bank, Narasu's Coffee, and Weizmann Homes Ltd. His latest stint was with Sai India Ltd where he was CFO for 2 years.

Gopalkrishnan holds a BSC from Madras University and is Chartered Accountant.

Mr. Ramaswami Dasarathy, Vice President - Special Projects 

Over the course of his career, Das has accumulated over 25 years of experience in the banking sphere, having worked at a number of reputed corporations such as the State Bank of India, Credit Agricole, and ING Vysya Bank before coming onboard the Janalakshmi team in July 2007.He drives technology and associated special projects.

Das holds a M.A (Mathematics) from the FMS Institute and a MBA from the University of Delhi.

Ms. Jaya Rupanagunta, Vice President - Special Projects 

With over ten years of experience in financial services, Jaya joined Janalakshmi in April 2005, when it was still a sub-unit of Sanghamitra, She was a part of the original team that made the transition to Janalakshmi in 2006. Prior to that, she had been working for Treasury Strategies, Chicago, in cash management. Now she manages new strategic initiatives for Janalakshmi.

Jaya has a B.A. (Econ. Honours) from Lady Shriram College, Delhi, and a MBA from IMT, Ghaziabad.

Mr. Cecil Lazarus, Vice President - Audit & Training 

Cecil has fourteen years of manufacturing experience in both financial and commercial areas prior to joining Sanghamitra, a Bangalore - based MFI, where he headed the operations for six years. He transitioned to Janalakshmi with the absorption of the Urban portfolio of Sanghamitra. Cecil has invaluable hands on experience in running MFIs and now heads the Audit and Training Function.

Cecil has a MBA from Bangalore University. He is also a certified member of the Association of Cost Accountants, AICWA.

Mr. N.S. Rajan, Vice President - Credit, Risk Management & Operations 

Rajan is a veteran in the field of microfinance, having been closely involved in the sector in rural areas through various government sponsored Urban Poor schemes such as PMRY, SEEUY, SEPUP, IRDP, BHAGYJYOTI etc. Rajan served as Assistant General Manager in Centurion Bank and earlier in Canara Bank for 24 years.

A veteran banker, Rajan, has a CAIIB from Indian Institute of Banking and Finance, Bachelors in Law from Bangalore University and a MBA from IGNOU.

Mr. V. Venkatakrishnan, Regional Vice President 

Venkat has a wealth of experience in the public, private and international banking sectors, having done stints with Indian Bank, IDBI, ING Vysya and the International Commercial Bank West Africa in his 25-year professional career. He joined Janalakshmi in early 2008 to manage Business Operations for North Bangalore.

Venkat has a M.A from Madras University, and a CAIIB from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.

Dr. P. Prakash, Vice President - Human Resources 

Prakash has recently joined the Janalakshmi team, after having long successful stints in leading corporates. His last assignment was in Henkel, where he served as Head - Human Resources, Indian Operations, and prior to that with the Murugappa Group.

Prakash has a doctorate from Bangalore University, and continues to be actively involved in academics and research.

Mr. Rajan Jerath, Head - Northern India 

"J" as he is called in Janalakshmi, has 17 years of experience in financial services with a specialization in Mortgages, Auto Finance, Commercial Vehicle Financing, and Corporate Financing, covering sales, credit and collection. Ten of those seventeen years were spent at Citigroup.

Rajan brings to the company his excellent understanding of the dynamics associated with lending to the sub prime sector in India. He joined the Janalakshmi team in early 2008 to Head the Business Operations in North India.

Rajan has a MMS from FMS Benares Hindu University.

Mr. M. Gnanavel, Head - Coimbatore Region 

Gnanavel is an experienced microfinance professional with over 10 years hands-on experience in the sector. He started his career working for DHAN Foundation and then moved on to handle key roles in institutions like Hand-in - Hand and Prawarda. He joined Janalakshmi in April 2008, to head the Southern India Business Operations.

Gnanavel is a graduate in Agricultural Sciences, has a MA in Personnel Management and a MBA in Finance from the Alagappa University.

Mr. Praveen Saha, Head - Business 

Praveen comes to Janalakshmi with 8 years of experience in the financial services sector. Praveen was Product Manager-Microfinance at Capstone Financial Services before he joined Janalakshmi. He has also worked with ICICI Bank, GE Money, and Mitt soft Technologies.

Praveen received his E.P.B.M from IIM Kolkata and his B.E. (Mechanical) from Bangalore University.

Mr. P. Clementson Varghese, Head - Collections 

In his ten year career, Clement has worked at varied organizations, including Nahar Financial Ltd., GE Capital International Services (GENPACT) and HBSC Bank, Hyderabad. Today, he is in charge of Collections and Analytics for Janalakshmi.

Clement is a graduate in Chemical Technology from the Loyola Academy, Hyderabad.

Mr. Satyabrata Banerjee, Advisor - Northern India 

Mr. Banerjee is a retired Director General of Police (Anti - Corruption) for the state of Gujarat. He has a BA(Hons) in Economics from St. Stephen's College, New Delhi.

During the 1971 war, Mr. Banerjee was awarded 2 medals for his valour in service - Poorvi Star and Sangram Medal. He is a recipient of the President's medal for distinguished service as well as the President's medal for meritorious service

Mr. Banerjee is an Executive committee member of the Gurgaon Chapter of IIPA

Mr. Shivaprasad Kuskur, Consultant - Technology 

Shivaprasad has over 27 years of experience in Business Development, Project Management, Delivery Management and Program Management. He has worked with clients in USA, Europe, Middle East and India.

Shiva is a Post graduate in Science from Bangalore University, having graduated in 1975.

Prior to joining Janalakshmi, Shiva has worked with Infosys Technologies Ltd, Wipro Infotech Ltd and Bharat Electronics Ltd.
